About

This blog has been something I’ve wanted to start for a long time now, and feel the start of a new year would be an ideal time to finally begin. I intend to write about cycling, which is a huge part of my life, and I will also be reviewing the various products I purchase and use regularly. I’m not sure where this will lead but, like cycling, the fun is in the journey!

I have loved cycling for years, and can still vividly remember my first ‘proper’ bike; a green Raleigh Jungle Bike – complete with jungle decals depicting monkeys and trees. I also vividly remember the first time I ever rode that bike without stabilisers and the freedom I felt as my Dad let go and I carried on pedalling away from our house, and off around the corner towards the park. Suddenly, the world I’d always thought of as huge became far more accessable. With that bike, everything that once seemed to be a long journey was now only a short ride away.

As I’ve got older, cycling has always been a part of my life – from BMXing and Mountain Biking as a teen, to Road Biking now in my early twenties – and it has never been for any other reason than the pure joy of getting from A to B under my own steam, and the excitement of getting on a bike and feeling that freedom that I don’t believe you can get in many other ways.

I currently own a few bikes (or if you are my fiance, a few too many!) including a nice old Raleigh tourer, a 3 Speed Raleigh Town Bike which I have completely refurbished myself and more recently a Mekk Road Bike!

Like I say, I’m not too sure where this blog will take me, but I intend to enjoy finding out!

Feel free to come along for the ride!
